Who is that working in your house?

Let me share a story that may influence your decision on hiring contractors for home improvement needs. Recently a friend casually mentioned that an ex-contractor kept calling and asking for more work. After some probing questions, I learned that this ex-contractor was hired as he solicited his skills at a local home improvement store. Once this ex-contractor made it to the job, which was in the home of my friend, he provided not only a poor quality of service but he also provided personal information including having spent time in jail for “something he didn’t do”. This ex-contractor exhibited other red flags including asking for gas money and bringing other unknown individuals to the job site which never looked my friend in the eye. Of course my friend was uncomfortable and has since not returned the calls of this ex-contractor. My friend has since installed a costly security system and continually worries about the return of this ex-contractor.

Being a Private Investigator, I asked for this ex-contractor’s information. With just his name and phone number I was able to determine that this ex-contractor had a lengthy criminal history with two state jail felony convictions as well as an active warrant for his arrest.

I do not offer opinions on the principles to hire convicted felons, but I do offer people services to make informed decisions. As a former law enforcement agent, I know that where a crime has occurred one of the questions to the complainant will be who had access to the crime scene. All contractors will need to be excluded from the suspect list because history has shown that violent crimes and/or property crimes are often committed by the contractors whom had access to the premises. In the event that the person you hire as a contractor does not have a criminal history and a crime does in fact occur, the work product of an initial background check can be given to law enforcement to aid in a swift investigation.

Do you want to know if the person that has or will have access to your home and family has a criminal history? Let me share a few things that may influence your decision:

Remember that when you open your home to contractors, you are giving them access to your private spaces and your family. Your animals may get used to them and accept them as friend rather than foe. Your windows and locks are at their disposal. You may offer your keys or alarm codes to these individuals. Your personal information is almost always in plain view.

Can I find someone?

If you are looking to find someone, a professional private investigator can be a very efficient and effective method to locate someone. There are many reasons to hire a professional, but here are some of the top purposes:
Debtor               Service of Process                   Civil/Criminal proceedings                   Adoption                  Lost love
Custody             Probate                                      Suspicious circumstances                     Runaway                  Lost relative

As a Private Investigator I am often asked to locate someone. I have a list of questions that I ask these clients to help me understand not only where this person may be but also what is the purpose of the reunion. A good investigator uses a set of ethical standards to ensure that locating a person is in the best interest of all parties. This standard is typically simple in a legal setting, however on a personal quest the ethics of finding someone is more inconspicuous. Therefore, be prepared to answer several probing questions in order for a PI to locate an individual.

There are many resources now available online to locate or find someone. These services come with varying degrees of cost and varying degrees of substance. Based on my experience, a person will pay more on these online sites than if you hired a PI due to the need to search multiple names, addresses, phone(s), etc. Therefore, if cost is your concern you should consult with a PI before using online sources since most consults are free.  Also, a PI has the experience to navigate all of the online resources such as county databases to help your case.

In the State of Texas, all private investigators are required to hold a current PI license through the Department of Public Safety to conduct investigations for fees. This can be very helpful, if your particular case has legal precedence and the PI can be deposed or called before the court to bolster your case. This is also important to know before hiring a PI, because you will likely be sharing personal information.

No matter why you need to find someone, a professional private investigator has the tools, resources, experience, and ethical standards to help you on this quest. Contact the professionals at Texas Confidential LLC to help you find what you need. We offer free confidential consultations to help.

Why Women Cheat

Some would say women are complex creatures.   Some compare women to ovens and men to microwaves.  There are those who comment that women are multi-taskers or a “jack of all trades” whether they are working professionals or home care givers.  And there are those who say women are loyal to their mates and tend to live monogamous lives.  Maybe those are true and maybe not, but women do cheat.  Studies show that 36% of married women have extramarital affairs

So why to do women cheat?  Here are a few reasons why:

Emotional disconnection

  • A woman may feel like her mate does not understand her feelings or care how she makes it through the day.  An open ended question from an interested man can be just the string to pull and begin an illicit emotional affair.

Boredom-

  • The woman that has left her job to be a housewife or the wife of a traveling spouse may find herself bored and look for or discover intimacy from someone else.

Revenge-

  • “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” says the old phrase.  Be aware you men cheaters; as you may be given a dose of your own medicine.

Lack of Intimacy-

  • Intimacy is more than sex, but yes women want sex too.  Lack of sex can lead to infidelity, but often enough it seems women need passion and intimacy in ways outside of the bedroom.  If their mate does not provide that type of intimacy she may find it in an affair.

Exit Strategy-

  • Some women have decided that the relationship is already doomed, and entering an extramarital affair will only ease the separation more completely.

If you believe your wife or girlfriend of cheating, what are you going to do about it?  Do you need proof of infidelity?  Then contact the professionals at Texas Confidential LLC to help you discover the truth.  We offer free confidential consultations to help.

Why hire a PI for Skip Tracing/Locating when there are so many websites that claim to locate people???

The need to locate a person varies greatly, but the vast majority of people that need to hire a private investigator are seeking debtors or fugitives.  People who owe a debt or are concealing themselves from the justice system go out of their way to hide their identity and location.  This poses a problem for anyone attempting to locate this individual.  As an experienced FBI agent working on fugitive recovery, Holly Bagnell and her team at Texas Confidential have tools and resources to skip trace/locate these individuals.  Skip trace simply means a method by which an individual is located by way of scanning various data sources and using investigative techniques to weave together a likely point of location.  http://www.pinow.com/investigations/skiptrace  has some great explanations as well.

We are often requested to locate individuals for the following as well:

Child custody disputes

Criminal / Civil witnesses

Default Judgment cases

Relatives / Loved Ones

Runaways

Missing person

Bail bond locates

Now you ask, why spend the money to hire a private investigator rather than pay the “small fee” from an online data source?  Well you could use that as an avenue, but often times those sources are stale.  Typically your fee is a one-time search, and you almost always need to run other addresses/names/phones/assets in an attempt to “triangulate” your person of interest.  Therefore, your small fee to search will turn into multiple search fees that could cost you more than if you just hired a PI to begin with and you still may be handling old information.

Additionally, law enforcement has the resources to locate people, but they are often limited by case load, case priority, jurisdiction, and other barriers that make finding someone challenging.  Therefore, considering a private investigator for any locates can be effective and efficient even when law enforcement has an open case.

Just because you “like me” on Facebook does not mean your spouse is cheating on you!

When people mention private investigations the first thought to mind almost always is cheating spouses!  Therefore some may feel that associating with a PI means they think some illicit affair is occurring in their midst.  Are you pondering the alcoholic, possibly over-weight, coffee stained shirt wearing, old Buick driving, overly cautious PI that you see in the movies right now??  Well contrary to movie production, a PI is a professional spy that can tell you what you want to know about almost anything and have a waistline and credentials to boot!

There are many other assignments that a PI can be very resourceful and beneficial for in areas besides the cheaters of the world.  Below are just a few areas that people do not always consider:

Personal Background / Social Network Investigation

Before you interview for that perfect job or hard to enter college, a representative from Texas Confidential can inform you of what your background history or social network trail looks like.  Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Credit_Reporting_Act, there is the “specialty consumer reporting” which encompasses your potential background report that your future employer/educational institution may have access to that you may be completely unaware of.  You either need to be quick to request a copy of this background from said employer in order to know what they know or you can hire a PI to run this for you before you even send out your resume/application.  For around $150, you can arm yourself with your “offline” online report so that you can dispute the discrepancies and/or update your perfect profile.

Due Diligence

Due diligence is just that, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Due_diligence.  Human nature is to trust and think the best of people and their intentions.  How often do you find yourself asking probing questions?  When you interviewed your house cleaner did you ask about their criminal background?  Or better yet, did you even “interview” your house cleaner?  Did you retrieve a list of references?  Did you actually call the references?  Your house cleaner probably has your house key and your alarm passcode.  Your house cleaner knows more about you than most….want to know why?  Because a house cleaner sees your “dirty laundry”, your trash, your valuables, your animals, your children, your mail/bills, and so much more.

What about a play date for your children?  Has your child found a new friend on the soccer team that they just have to go play with?  Even if you have met and spoke with their parents, do you KNOW their parents?  You know where they are going, but do you really know who is watching?

Sometimes asking probing questions is difficult.  People use the term, “think with your heart rather than your mind” as an expression to show emotion and empathy.  We are raised typically to be respectful and polite so asking probing questions seems offensive.  Avoid a potential tragedy and have a PI conduct a due diligence investigation.  For as little as $50, Texas Confidential can run a criminal history report.  Some of the nicest most respectful people do despicable things, and Texas Confidential can help you have peace of mind by running due diligence.

Don’t get caught with a cheating spouse in the great state of Texas!

Does your spouse have signs of cheating?  Answer the below questions:

  1. Has your spouse changed his/her behavior regarding intimacy?  i.e. increase/decrease in affection or sexual preferences
  2. Has your spouse become more focused on appearance?  i.e. change in attire, hygiene, and/or physical fitness
  3. Does your spouse hide his/her phone or erase messages/texts?
  4. Does your spouse erase internet history or act secretly around internet usage?
  5. Has your spouse changed his/her work hours or have work “excuses” to be away for periods of time?
  6. Does your spouse immediately shower when he/she arrive home or has he/she changed fragrances?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you could use the expertise of a private investigator to determine if your spouse is cheating!

http://www.ehow.com/how_8130339_use-private-investigator-adultery-divorce.html

A private investigator is a skilled truth finder that works directly for an individual with no biases or agendas and typically no resource limitations.  Although essential, an attorney does not necessarily look for or seek the truth rather an attorney will file the documentation and coordinate the legalese to settle your divorce.  By the time an attorney has been retained, typically the affair has already occurred and proving infidelity can then become trickier.  Therefore, a private investigator should be consulted early to help you identify and provide proof of infidelity.  Proof is what your attorney will present because you have to remember that a court will not hear innuendo or suppositions.

http://www.ehow.com/info_8744720_information-adultery-law-texas.html

As this article states, it can be beneficial to prove infidelity in a Texas divorce settlement as it can affect child custody and spousal support.  Remember, proof of infidelity is key in any court to bolster your divorce agreement.

Even if divorce is not on the table (YET), everyone deserves to know the truth if an affair has gone/is going on in your relationship.  An affair qualifies for “risky business” and therefore there are innate risks that come with adulterous behaviors such as sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), physical harm or assault if caught by another party (i.e. other spouse or significant other), illicit pregnancy, financial loss(es), criminal charges in prostitution cases, potential loss of job, and the list goes on.
